Astoria Growler Guys was opened in June of 2014, by Don and Renay Patterson and their daughter Krista.
After owning convenience stores on the coast since 1988, we decided to branch out into the craft beer industry after a trip to Bend. Our idea of fun is checking out all the different types of convenience stores. While on vacation, we happened to walk into Bend Eastside Shell. We were pleasantly surprised to come across The Original Growler Guys. We knew we wanted to be a part of this and bring this idea into our new Convenient store and Laundromat in Astoria. We’ve been open for almost 8 years now and going strong. What’s better than doing your laundry and then getting to drink delicious fresh craft beer while you wait?! Over the last 8 years, we’ve expanded several times, and coming summer of 2022 will be a bigger outside area including two food carts, games, and dog-friendly spaces. We love the Growler Guys and it’s been a great addition to the craft beer industry here on the Oregon coast.

I’ve always had a thing for beers,
Turns out.. I’ve been drinking every night,
Drinking Pilsners, Pales, Scottish Ales, sometimes multiple IPA’s in the same night…
I was out of control!
After about 1000 beers you know… you need something more. Something new, something craft & fresh.
Maybe, what I want is to be the beer..
So I started brewing,
2, 3, sometimes 4 batches a night!
One night..
Instead of going out I invited a friend over to taste my beer, it was magical.
So I put an ad out for beer tastings.
Turns out lots of people like beer.
I’d even pay people to drink my beer so when I look in their eyes.. I see a beer, being consumed by me..
Now.. we have 24 taps & cocktails coming soon!!
